En el nombre de Dios, amen. Nosotros, los abajo firmantes, leales súbditos de nuestro admirado soberano señor, por la gracia de Dios rey James de Gran Bretaña, Francia, e Irlanda, defensor de la fe, etc. Habiendo emprendido para la gloria de Dios y fomento de la fe cristiana, y el honor de nuestro rey y país, un viaje para establecer la primera colonia en las regiones septentrionales de Virginia, mediante estas presentes declaraciones, solemne y mutuamente, en la presencia de Dios y de cada uno de nosotros, pactamos y nos unimos todos juntos en un cuerpo político civil para nuestro mejor orden y conservación y para el fomento de los susodichos fines. Y en virtud de ello periódicamente redactaremos y decretaremos tales justas y equitativas leyes, ordenanzas, actos y constituciones y constituiremos oficiales como se considere
más apropiado y conveniente para el bien general de la colonia; a lo que prometemos toda la debida sumisión y obediencia.

En fe de lo cual hemos firmado nuestros nombres aquí, en el Cabo Cod, el once de noviembre, en el decimoctavo año del reinado de nuestro soberano señor rey James en Inglaterra, Francia, e Irlanda, y el quincuagésimo cuarto en Escocia, año del Señor 1620.

IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c. Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in the northern Parts of Virginia; Do by these Presents, solemnly and mutually, in the Presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid: And by Virtue hereof do enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions, and Officers, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general Good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due Submission and Obedience. IN WITNESS whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape-Cod the eleventh of November, in the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France, and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth, Anno Domini; 1620.
